The start of this year's winter update test is close, Tibians. Time to take a closer look at the new spells and abilities that the Wheel of Destiny has in store for you. Since they bestow significant benefits they require a considerable number of promotion points to be unlocked.

Gift of Life (Revelation Perk)

Next time when death stares at you, stare back with a vibrant smile and survive an otherwise fatal blow. If an attack (except with agony damage) were to kill you but the overkill damage amounts to less than 20%, 25% or 30%* of your maximum hit points, you will heal yourself for 20%, 25% or 30%* of your maximum hit points. Only after that is the damage applied. In addition, all your spell cooldowns are reduced by 60 seconds. Cooldown: 30, 20 or 10* hours. The cooldown is only reduced while the character has a battle sign.

*Values for stage 1, 2 and 3 of the perk.

Vocation-specific Revelation Perks
Executioner's Throw Divine Wrath Blessing of the Grove Great Death Beam
This spell throws your weapon on your target and jumps on 1, 2 or 3* nearby enemies. Deals 100%, 125% or 150%* additional damage to targets with less than 30% of their hit points. Cooldown: 22, 18 or 14* seconds. This spell plants a marker at the feet of your target that explodes after 3 seconds, dealing holy damage. Damage increases with higher spell stages. Cooldown: 28, 24 or 20* seconds. Your healing is increased by 0.06%, 0.09% or 0.12%* for every 1% of your target's missing hit points. This beam spell deals death damage. Damage and length increase with higher spell stages. Cooldown: 10, 8 or 6* seconds.
Combat Mastery Divine Empowerment Twin Bursts: Terra or Ice Drain Body
Increases the defence value of shields by 10, 20 or 30*. Increases your critical extra damage by 4%, 8% or 12%* while wielding a two-handed weapon. Every 16th, 14th or 12th* attack creates a field of holy energy around your feet for 5 seconds. As long as you stand in this field, your dealt damage increases by 8%, 10% or 12%*. Decide wisely whether you want to cast ice or earth damage in a small area around you, as these two ring spells share the same cooldown. Both spells deal 20%, 40% or 60%* additional damage to targets with more than 60% of their hit points. Cooldown: 22, 18 or 14* seconds. This crippling spell debuffs all creatures in an area for 16 seconds. Grants 1%, 1.25% or 1.5%* mana leech and 3%, 3.75% or 4.5%* life leech against creatures debuffed this way. Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Avatars (Revelation Perk)
Unleash your true power and turn into a mighty avatar for a glorious moment. For 11 seconds, you benefit from 5%, 10% or 15%* damage reduction and all your attacks are critical hits with 5%, 10% or 15%* critical extra damage. Cooldown: 120, 90 or 60* minutes.

Battle Instinct Charm Enhancement Runic Mastery Runic Mastery
Gain +8 shielding and +1 sword/axe/club fighting when 5 creatures are on adjacent squares. For each additional creature, you get +8 shielding and +1 sword/axe/club fighting more. The chance to trigger an offensive Charm (except for Cripple) is increased by 0.5%. If you use a rune that can be created by your vocation, your magic level is increased by 5. For example: Avalanche Rune. If you use a rune that can be created by your vocation, your magic level is increased by 5. For example: Great Fireball Rune.
Battle Healing Ballistic Mastery Healing Link Beam Mastery
For each creature challenged, you will heal yourself for a small amount. This amount doubles if you have less than 30% of your hit points. The critical extra damage for attacks with a crossbow is increased by 10%. If you attack with a bow, the damage of offensive Charms (except for Cripple) is increased by 0.2%. If you heal someone with Nature's Embrace or Heal Friend, you also heal yourself for 10% of the applied healing. For each target hit by a beam spell, the cooldown of all other spells is reduced by 1 sec (up to a maximum of 3 seconds) and the damage of this spell is increased by 10% (up to a maximum of 30%).


Before giving feedback on the strength and impact of perks in the Skill Wheel, we encourage you to thoroughly try them out during the test of the Winter Update, including Dedication Perks and the augmentations of existing spells which we did not feature in this teaser.

Are you curious to find out how the Wheel of Destiny has shaped up since the sneak peek we gave you in July? Let us dive right into it!

The design process and development of the Wheel of Destiny has been driven by our goal to give players an opportunity to further specialise their characters based on their needs and playstyle as they level up. Starting with level 51, all promoted characters on Premium accounts will gain 1 promotion point per level which they can spend in the Wheel of Destiny. A level 1000, for example, has 950 points to spend.

Neither spending nor removing points will cost you anything! We want you to be able to freely try out which of the benefits suit you best or are most useful to you in a specific scenario, be that hunting, bossing or PvP. Whenever you have promotion points to spend, simply open the Wheel of Destiny and spend your points. You can do this any time! To remove or reset already invested points you have to be in a temple, though.

The Wheel of Destiny is divided into four domains. Each domain contains nine slices. So in total, there are 36 slices which you can fill with points to improve your character:

  • Dedication Perks have small effects. They gradually increase existing characteristics, e.g. your HP or your mana. Every promotion point invested into a Dedication Perk raises the bonus in question a bit till you have assigned the maximum number of points possible for this slice.
  • Conviction Perks have medium to large effects. They augment existing spells, grant vocation-specific passive abilities or generally useful bonuses, e.g. elemental resistance. You unlock a Conviction Perk once you have filled the respective slice to the max. Most Conviction Perks can be found more than once within the Wheel of Destiny. When they are unlocked, their effects add up.
  • Revelation Perks have powerful effects. They grant new spells or strong passive effects with considerable impact. There are four Revelation Perks and each of them is assigned to one of the four domains of the wheel. You unlock a Revelation Perk once you have spent enough promotion points in the respective domain. Spending more points in the same domain will unlock the more powerful stages two and three of this Revelation Perk


If you have not yet distributed any points in the Wheel of Destiny, you start in the centre with a limited choice of perks to choose from: there are four slices which you can fill with points. As soon as you have filled a slice completely, you will be able to invest points into the adjacent slices. Thus, you can branch out and make your way towards the outer circle where the strongest perks can be unlocked. Each vocation has a unique wheel with its own spells and effects, but there are some overlaps.

Take Up Your Shields Again

Adding multiple new unique mechanics to the game presented us with a good opportunity to also change some underlying mechanics of the game and to dust off overlooked systems. In particular, we took a closer look at the shielding skill and damage mitigation in general. Our goal was to breathe new life into the defense attribute of shields, into the shielding skill and into making your choice of combat stance matter more.

To achieve this, we created an additional way of damage mitigation that benefits knights the most. We decided to add a new characteristic with the winter update:

Mitigation reduces all damage of the common damage types (Physical, Earth, Ice, Fire, Energy, Holy and Death) by a percentage. This percentage will be calculated based on several factors:

  • your shielding skill
  • your choice of equipment (e.g. Are you wearing a shield or a two-handed weapon? How high is the defense value of this equipment?)
  • your choice of combat stance (offensive, balanced or defensive)

This new stat will benefit players as well as monsters, including bosses, so some of your foes can be a bit more chewy.

To accommodate for the new and improved use of the shielding skill we had to adjust the Protector spell and bring it in line with its offensive counterpart Blood Rage. Hence, its increase of the shielding skill will be reduced. Instead of raising the skill to 220%, it will now raise it to 135%. Now this might sound like a harsh nerf, however, the spell's actual impact will be greater due to the addition of Mitigation.

We also consider it important that Tibia remains a dangerous world which requires its adventurers to stay vigilant. Thus, we will slightly increase the damage of monsters that are of medium or higher difficulty in the Bestiary. As of winter update, medium monsters will deal ~1% more damage, hard monsters ~3% more and challenging monsters ~5% more. This will have no impact on bosses.

Halloween is here! From today's server save till server save November 3, the Mutated Pumpkin will rear its ugly head west of Darashia to instill fright and dread in the hearts of many an adventurer.

Every player daring to step up to the Mutated Pumpkin will be rewarded according to their level of participation. Once you have bested the fiend, you can claim your rightful loot from its cold, dead body.

Moreover, every Tibian hero who took part in the fight against the pumpkin will be worthy enough to pass the portal to skin its corpse with the obsidian knife for a second reward.

Be on the lookout for the infamous Halloween Hare if you want to become a harrowing beast. Hurry up, since the Halloween Hare hides itself somewhere on mainland, on Rookgaard, and on Dawnport and can only be found on October 31.

Double XP and Double Skill Weekend

Are you looking for an opportunity to level up and improve your skills? A double XP and double skill weekend is coming! So sharpen your weapons and stock up your potions, a weekend full of excessive monster slaughtering is waiting for you!

Between the server saves of November 04 and November 07, all monsters will yield twice the usual amount of experience points, and your skill training, including magic level, will advance twice as fast. The skill progress when training offline will also be doubled.

Galthen and the City of Gold

Galthen put his bag on the stony ground. This cave was the ideal place to take a deep breath. A small fortress in the midst of all danger. For days, he combed through the dense jungle and, for some time now, had the feeling that he was not making any progress. He seemed to be running in circles. Something was missing. "This damn thicket fools me." the knight pondered. For so long, he was certain that he had followed the right track. And now, massive doubts.

"It's a hopeless endeavour," his guide and companion for the past days, Balthasar, had whispered to him as he recently parted. This place would not exist. It's just a legend. An invention. A pipe dream. And it was precisely these words and thoughts that drove Galthen forward from the very beginning. The mysteries. The things that others only softly scoffed at. He wanted to fathom these golden dreams himself. He wanted to bring light into the darkness. He was therefore nicknamed "torch" by many ancient tribes. Someone who is persistent in their search for the truth.

Deeper and deeper he followed his breath, as he descended into the very foundation of his vocation and finally reached a point where all thoughts ceased to exist. Slowly, the mystery of the golden city began to unfold before him. And just as he was about to open the gate, the inner voyage ended with a terrible bang. He lay covered in blood at the northern end of the hollow. Something had thrown him against the rock wall with a swish.

Galthen opened his eyes. Fire and stone. Pain and astonishment at this sheer violence. “Am I awake, or am I dreaming?

obrazekA deafening scream rang out. A giant ape! An epic grey beast tried to drive him out of the cave with vocal violence. And with any other intruder, he would probably have succeeded. But this wasn’t just anyone…

Galthen, then, was once again the adventurer who longed for such moments. The ferocity of this mighty creature. The power, the will. And everything against him. A fitting task that required full attention.

In a dignified presence, he awaited the decisive attack of his colossal adversary. The knight’s eyes began to glow. His gaze was pure concentration; his whole body an ocean of awareness.

The ape angrily charged at him. The nobleman felt the unbridled energy, the bloodlust of the creature, as he dodged sideways like a torero, and the attacker thundered head-on against the cave wall.

Galthen moved slowly towards the crouching fur and drew his dagger from the fallen giant's hypothalamus.

"At least he had a quick and painless death."

The massive impact had torn a hole into the rock face and exposed a secret portal.

"I knew I was getting close," he resumed.
Adjustment of Damage and Healing Scaling per Level

Over the last years, we have added various ways and means which granted additional strength and power to characters through features such as the exaltation forge, the prey system or imbuing, just to name a few. On top of that, the winter update will introduce another powerful feature players will benefit from: the skill wheel.

At the same time, the speed at which characters gain levels has been accelerating over time and nowadays, many already have characters beyond level 1000. Yet, their damage and healing continues to grow by 1 every 5 levels. It has become clear that this scaling is outdated and too steep since it raises a character's power too fast. We want to address this, and also put more weight on equipment and skills.

Therefore, the impact that a character's level has on the character's damage and healing will be mitigated.

With tomorrow's server save, the overall scaling of damage and healing increase through level will be adjusted as follows:

  • Till level 500: no change, damage and healing +1 every 5 levels
  • As of level 501-1100: damage and healing +1 every 6 levels
  • As of level 1101-1800: damage and healing +1 every 7 levels
  • As of level 1801-2600: damage and healing +1 every 8 levels
  • As of level 2601-3500: damage and healing +1 every 9 levels
  • Above level 3500 it continues with the same logic (steps of 500, 600, 700, etc.)


For a current level 800 this means: Before this change this character's level increased its damage and healing by 160, after this adjustment its damage and healing is reduced by 10 to 150 (+1 every 5 levels till level 500, +1 every 6 levels from level 501 to level 800).

This change will apply retroactively which means the damage and healing output of characters above level 500 will be lower than before depending on their current level. Please keep in mind that a large part of a character's damage output is determined by the skill and spell used so the actual impact of this change varies..

We know that this is a significant step but it is necessary for the balance of the game, especially since the upcoming skill wheel will overall make characters stronger than they were before tomorrow's adjustment.
